School Visitors:
Purpose: To authorize school visitation
Parents/legal guardians are encouraged to visit the schools for conferences with teachers, assemblies, school programs, and other organizational meetings. Noncustodial parents shall not be denied, solely on the basis of their noncustodial status, the opportunity to participate in any activities supported or encouraged by the board.
Classroom observations are prohibited unless arranged in advance with the building principal/designee. Observations must not disrupt instruction and are to be short duration.
Visitors must report to the administrative office for permission to visit a school. Unauthorized persons will be required to leave the school grounds.
Persons are prohibited from entering or remaining on any school property, including school buses, in violation of any direction to vacate by an authorized individual or any notice posted where it may reasonably be seen. It is unlawful for any person to enter a school at nighttime without authorization except to attend an approved meeting. Persons violating these provisions may be subject to prosecution.
Board members my visit schools to maintain contact with employees and to increase understanding of educational practices.
